Ok, you decided to try to earn some money with internet marketing. First what you will need is a niche. There are thousands out there. Which one to choose? In what direction should you go? Let me give you a few niche market ideas.

Niche marketing is about writing. You have to provide content to your readers. And that content must be interesting and informative for them. You must tell them something new. You must teach and explain. Otherwise they won't trust you. Your site will be just another site that wants to sell something.

And the same happens with search engines which dictate your ranking. They favor sites that are authoritative in their niche. They don't want to mislead their clients. They try to provide best mach for keywords that people type into search field. They mimic a human perception of what is a good content and what not. And they are getting only better.

So think. What are subjects or interests I know a lot about? What can I write down and it sticks? What can I publish and answer any comment that might be posted?

Very good ideas for your niche are your hobbies. If you practice sport, you travel a lot, collect something, you are interested in certain activity or you just adore all sorts of chocolates – you know a lot about that subject.

You also know a lot about your profession. Working experiences are valuable source of knowledge. Think of your other passions and find out if there are unexplored niches. It is so much easier to write about something that you like. And you will have to write a lot.

Can't find anything? Nothing but absolutely nothing crosses your mind. It is so simple to find niche market ideas. For example let say a coffee! The rule of thumb is: use at least 3 words long keywords. Why? Because with keywords that are long two words, you will have to strong competition. Also do not use generic names like names of manufacturers. It is quite certain that home page of manufacturer will outrank your site as it is the most authoritative for the given keyword. Try to use common words like for example: "best mp3 players" or "cheap mp3 players". Even better is, if you find a smaller niche, a micro niche of a general one. Let say waterproof mp3 players would be an example of a micro niche to more general "mp3 player" niche.

And the final advice would be: Do not try to start with difficult niches. These include insurance, mortgage, web hosting ... and such. These are traditional niches and a lot of pages are fighting for first page in SERP. And what is more important, they are there for years, and it is most unlikely that a newcomer will get the first prize quickly.
